Siouxland Renaissance Association
Event Attendance Policies

1) The following policies apply to ALL Volunteers, Vendors, Entertainers, and Patrons of the
Siouxland Renaissance Association attending scheduled events, including Festivals:
  a) Weapons:
    i) Weapons are defined as any man- made tool which can inflict bodily damage to another human being including but not limited to:
      (1) Knives or swords with blunt or sharpened blades over 4” in length.
(2) Arrows or bolts.
(3) Period firearms (no other type of firearms are allowed).
(4) Axes, maces and any other type of medieval weapon.
    ii) “Bladed” weapons shall be sheathed in a protective fashion and securely affixed to one’s person using ribbon.
iii) Firearms, bows and crossbows may not be “loaded” and shall be carried over one’s shoulder or in a non-aggressive manner.
iv) All projectiles (i.e. arrows, bolts, etc.) shall be checked in at the Security booth.
v) Any other types of weapons shall be sheathed and secured, or must be checked in at the Security booth.
vi) Exceptions to these policies shall include:
      (1) Pre-approved stage or street actors during their performance only.
  b) Alcohol:
    i) Wristbands (or festival approved I.D. stamps) shall be issued to anyone over the age of twenty-one who wishes to drink alcoholic beverages.
ii) Security personnel, at their discretion, may I.D. anyone that is consuming alcoholic beverages.
iii) Volunteers, Vendors, and Entertainers are strongly encouraged not to drink alcohol before or during their public appearances.
  c) Smoking:
    i) Smoking is allowed throughout Festival grounds as long as courtesy of others and littering do not become issues.
ii) Smoking is allowed in designated areas only for all other Association events.
iii) Costumed Vendors, Volunteers, and Entertainers are encouraged to smoke in “backstage” areas only.
  d) Pets:
    i) Pets must be registered at the Security booth immediatly upon entering the festival property.
ii)Pets must be wearing a valid rabies vaccination tag or owner must provide valid vaccination papers at the Security booth to be allowed to bring the pet further onto festival property.
iii) All pets will be allowed only if they remain on a secured leash and constrained by their owner at all times.
iv) Owner and pet must remain together at all times.
v) Failure to comply with any policy may result in the removal of owner and pet from festival property at the sole discretion of SRA the Security chairperson.
      (1) Exceptions to this rule may be pre-approved.
    iii) Owners must clean up any pet messes.
  e) Staff Identification:
    i) Volunteer, Vendors and Entertainers will be issued event (festival) specific identification.
ii) Identification must be either visible or produced immediately upon request.
iii) This identification will allow personnel all access passes to said events and “backstage” areas.
2) In addition, the following policies apply to all Vendors:
  a) Weapons:
    i) Weapons may be displayed and handled within the confines of your facility at your discretion.
ii) Sold weapons must be peace tied or packaged upon sale.
  b) Alcohol: Vendors may ONLY sell alcohol to patrons wearing a wristband or approved I.D. stamp.
    i) A maximum of two drinks can be purchased at a time per individual.
ii) Vendors shall use their discretion to limit service to Patrons that appear to be intoxicated.
      (1) Vendors shall notify Safety & Security personnel of intoxicated Patrons.
